The belt tension meter is used to measure and adjust the tension of belts in motors and other machinery. It is primarily used for measuring the tension of automotive belts, but can also be used to measure and calibrate the tension data of strips, filaments, lines, meshes, and wide objects.

Precautions for using a belt tensiometer:

1. The belt tension meter must be calibrated according to standard methods; otherwise, measurement errors will occur. Regular calibration is also necessary.

2. If the belt tension meter is not used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent battery corrosion and leakage, which could damage the instrument.

3. For long-term measurements, it is best to zero the gauge every 10 minutes.

4. When measuring belt tension, the moving belt should not be too loose; otherwise, data will generally not be obtained.

5. Suitable for industries such as automotive, textiles, electrical wires and cables, metal wires, plastic film, paper, printing, and film.
