How to choose a suitable tension meter
2022-05-19 16:57

Tension meter refers to an instrument that measures the tightness of wire and strip, such as yarn, steel wire, copper wire, cable, steel cable, film, bundle material, aluminum foil and other materials in static or dynamic state. It can provide accurate and quantitative tension parameters for the production process to ensure that the tension remains stable or reaches the required value. The commonly used tension meters are mainly rail tension meter, textile tension meter, and rope tension meter.

How to choose the right tensiometer:

1. Range selection of digital tension meter:

Usually the actual tension used is 80% of the tension measurement range. The instrument calibration usually adopts the 2-point calibration method. The first point is 0 point, and the second point is 80% of the range. Therefore, theoretically, the correct 2 points measured by the tension meter are the 0 point and the effective point.

2. Selection of the wire diameter range of the material measured by rail tension meter:

The tension meter adopts a 2-point linear calibration method, and its working principle is to measure the cooperative force (pressure on the measurement point) and convert the component force (material tension) by the parallelogram rule. Therefore, if the calibrated diameter of the instrument is different from the diameter of the material during actual measurement, there will be errors in the theoretical measurement value, and the greater the difference between the diameter of the measured material and the effective standard diameter, the greater the measurement error. So, when selecting the instrument, try to make the diameter of the measured material the same or close to the effective diameter of textile tension meter.
